This way, the gateway can tell the charger the power usage, solar export excess and stuff, and the gateway will know how much power the EV charger is using so that it does not discharge the home battery to the car. The manual for the EV charger does not explain how to set this connection up.

The vehicle will charge at a minimum of 6A (1.4kW) from a combination of excess solar and grid power. If excess solar exceeds 6A (1.4kW), this will be diverted into the EV. combination of solar and grid up to the “Max Current” limit Slider (A). The vehicle will charge based upon instruction that it has been given by the GivEnergy Inverter.
The system has the ability to be used in the event of a power cut. To utilise this the All in One must be connected to a Giv-Gateway. In the event of a power cut the Giv-Gateway will seamlessly switch over to battery to power the whole home. GivEnergy App or Online Monitoring Portal.
