You can charge your battery from: GivEnergy ECO mode is the default setting – using an inbuilt algorithm to charge and discharge intelligently, helping you to maximise self-consumption. Should you wish to change to a different charging setting, you can do so via the GivEnergy app or portal. Let’s look in more detail at each charging mode. 1.
This is nothing new. Since January 2020, the UK government has operated the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), allowing those with solar or other renewable energy to sell excess energy to the grid. With a GivEnergy battery, you can earn money from the GivBack scheme; any excess energy stored in your battery can be sold to the grid.
GivEnergy home batteries will charge and discharge intelligently by default, taking advantage of cheaper energy rates. However, you can also take a more hands-on approach by setting schedules and timers around your energy usage and lifestyle. You can do this through the energy monitoring software: portal and app.
1. Green only charging To use only the energy generated by your solar or wind generation, click the battery symbol on the home screen of your myenergi app, then untick the box labelled “Enable charging from the grid”. When unticked libbi will never pull any energy from the grid.
